Download and install KeisenVPA on macOS or Linux
Download
KeisenVPA is a standalone desktop application. Choose the version for your platform:

macOS Installation
Step 1: Download the DMG
Download the DMG file for Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4 — November 2020 and later).
Step 2: Open the DMG
Double-click the downloaded .dmg file. A window will open showing the KeisenVPA app and an Applications folder shortcut.
Step 3: Drag to Applications
Drag the KeisenVPA icon to the Applications folder. This installs the app on your system.
Step 4: Launch the app
Open KeisenVPA from your Applications folder or use Spotlight (Cmd+Space, type "KeisenVPA").
Granting Permissions
KeisenVPA needs access to your microphone for voice recording. When prompted:
- Click "Allow" when macOS asks for microphone access
- If you accidentally denied access, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and enable KeisenVPA
Install Whisper Services (Required)
Before using voice transcription, you must install Whisper:
- Click the Settings button
- Under the General tab, click "System Status"
- Click on the "Services" tab
- Click "Install Whisper Services"
Linux Installation
Step 1: Download the AppImage
Download the Linux AppImage from the link above.
Step 2: Make it executable
Open a terminal, navigate to your Downloads folder, and run:
chmod +x KeisenVPA-*.AppImage
Step 3: Run the app
Double-click the AppImage file, or run it from the terminal:
./KeisenVPA-*.AppImage
Step 4: Install Whisper Services
Before using voice transcription, you must install Whisper:
- Click the Settings button
- Under the General tab, click "System Status"
- Click on the "Services" tab
- Click "Install Whisper Services"
Uninstalling
To uninstall, click Settings, go to the General tab, and click the "Uninstall" button at the bottom.
Alternatively, you can uninstall manually:
macOS
Drag KeisenVPA from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove settings and data:
- Delete
~/Library/Application Support/KeisenVPA - Delete
~/Library/Preferences/com.keisen.vpa.plist
Linux
Simply delete the AppImage file. To remove settings and data, delete ~/.config/KeisenVPA.
